Common Concern
Dehydrated Skin
Hydrating treatments to restore comfort, radiance and plumpness to dehydrated skin.
What is dehydrated skin?
Dehydrated skin lacks adequate water content, which can leave it looking dull and feeling tight, dry or itchy. Other signs include darker under-eye circles and more pronounced fine lines. It is different from dry skin: dehydrated skin lacks water, while dry skin lacks natural oils (sebum).
What causes it?
Contributing factors include harsh weather, lifestyle choices (diet, alcohol, smoking), not drinking enough water, harsh or over-used skincare products, central heating and air conditioning, and some medical conditions.
How it shows on the skin
On the face, dehydration can cause tightness, dullness, more visible fine lines and an uneven complexion. On the neck, it may show as dryness, a crepey texture and a loss of firmness.
