To ensure your comfort, we apply a numbing cream containing Benzocaine, Lidocaine, and Tetracaine (BLT). This cream typically takes about 15 minutes to fully numb your lips. If you have an allergy to BLT, our registered nurse will administer a nerve block injection as an alternative to ensure you remain comfortable throughout the procedure.

Our registered cosmetic nurse will use a thin needle to carefully administer the product into the areas of your lips that align with your desired look. This typically includes the edges of your lips, the cupid's bow, and the corners of your mouth. While there's no pain involved, you might feel a slight pinch.

After the treatment, your cosmetic nurse will provide ice packs to help reduce any bruising and swelling. The entire process takes less than 30 minutes. You might notice some swelling, but it won't be severe. Once you're done, you can go back to your regular activities. For the best results, maintenance treatments are recommended every 6-12 months.

Pre & Post Treatment Care

Pre-Care

• Avoid alcohol: refrain from drinking alcohol for 24 hours prior to treatment because alcohol thins the blood and may lead to bleeding and bruising.
• Not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding clients: we do not treat clients who are pregnant or breast-feeding with cosmetic injections. We recommend that you defer such treatments during these times.

Post-Care

• Stay upright: avoid lying down or bending over for at least 4 hours post-treatment to prevent the product from migrating.
• Avoid touching: refrain from touching, rubbing, or massaging the treated area for at least 12 hours.
• Use only Jane Iredale mineral makeup: this is the only brand of makeup that can be used in the first 24 hours, post treatment, as it is not absorbed by the skin.
• Avoid physical exercise: refrain from strenuous activities and physical exercise for 24 hours following the treatment.
• Avoid skin treatments: refrain from undertaking microdermabrasion, peels or laser rejuvenation for 7 days.
• Expect some bruising: some bruising is normal and can take up to 7 days to clear.
